Lady Huskies face stiff competition
Aurora’s effort unquestioned during home-opener losses
Aurora’s start to the season was as tough as any.
The Lady Huskies welcomed a tall Adams Central team to Aurora for the season opener Thursday night before playing a ranked Wahoo team the following night.
Adams Central took an early lead and pulled away for a 51-28 win while Wahoo did something similar, 55-29.
While an 0-2 start isn’t ideal, Aurora coach Kelly Boshart noted that the one thing that can’t be doubted about the Lady Huskies is effort.
“This is a group full of work horses. They want to find success and I believe they will do just that,” the coach said. “We are young, but learning as the game goes on. In the game against Adams Central, I felt like from the first half to the second half, there was improvement. That’s what we’re hoping for at the beginning of the season against a tough opponent.”
