Friday night roundup Week 4

Body

Mother Nature played a big role in the weekend's football schedule.

Aurora's top 10 showdown with Norris was moved from Friday night to Saturday afternoon after the two teams waited through much of the night Friday with lightning all around the area.

Once the Huskies and Titans took the field, Aurora displayed tenancy and grit, picking up a 30-21 win over Norris.

The Huskies had five turnovers on the night, but scored four times, twice on the ground and two more through the air.

The passing attack featured Sam Jones finding Kash Kleinschmidt, who caught both scoring plays.

The Huskies are now 4-0 on the season and host rival Grand Island Northwest Friday.

Giltner snagged its first win of the season on Homecoming night, downing Ansley-Litchfield 44-38.

The game was also delayed by weather but eventually was finished up in the late-evening hours Friday. Giltner will host Red Cloud Friday.

High Plains had a top 10 road test Friday afternoon, challenging perennial playoff power Stuart. HPC was within one at the half, 28-27 but fell in the end, 63-39. HPC will have its Homecoming game Friday against Grand Island Lutheran.

H&H also had a long road trip west to Bridgeport as the Bulldogs rallied late in the fourth quarter for a 28-27 win. The Bearcats will be on the road again Friday at Fillmore Central.

Listed are all area teams and the scores of those games with the winning team in bold:
