Lady Huskies down Dukes for first time in seven years
Aurora rallies late for 12-8 win over York Thursday
Not even Mother Nature herself could keep Aurora from adding to its impressive start to the season.
Aurora trailed at York 8-6 and was just stepping to the plate to start the sixth when the skies opened up.
After a brief weather delay, Aurora rallied with six runs in the final two innings to defeat York on the road, 12-8.
Aurora coach Ashton Voss explained that seeing the Lady Huskies battle back through adversity from its opponent and the weather itself was a big confidence boost.
“I think that win showed a lot of resilience from the girls,” she said. “I see a lot of drive and focus with this team that I haven’t seen in years past.”
Once the teams took the field again after the rain downpour, Eva Fahrnbruch drove in little sister Adi to start the inning, making it an 8-7 game.
