Last week area children were invited to help the Crane River Theatre Company recreate the classic fairy tale of “Cinderella.” This event kicks off the Alice M. Farr Library summer reading program for 2021.
Library director Jan Thomsen explained that the reading program is designed to encourage kids to keep reading during the summer.
“They sign up for how many books they think they can read in the five-week period,” she said. “They come back and report on those books and they all have a castle on the wall that they can put stickers on that they get for reading books.”
