Aurora’s Mark Kliewer with Kliewer Auction Services took his talent to the Nebraska Bid Calling contest and walked away this year’s champion.
When asked how it felt to be selected to represent Nebraska at the international level of competition, Kliewer said it felt great.
“It took me a long time, 15 years to win this,” he said. “It just feels so good because I was in the top 10, 13 out of those 15 years. I placed second, third, fourth to really quality auctioneers. The guys that were in the contest this year, it was a top competition.”
Looking back over his years of involvement, Kliewer noted that many times he saw the young competitors win right away. While he always thought that was outstanding he found that as he got older he was glad to still have something to strive for in his career.
