Aurora High School senior and foreign exchange student Patricia Paranabas has made herself at home amongst the Huskies, despite being a long way from home.
The adjustment from Denmark to small-town Aurora, Nebraska, was a big step for the 16-year-old.
“I started out in New York a couple days when I first arrived,” she said. “And that’s so much more different than Nebraska.”
Having never even been to the United States, Paranabas enjoyed the Big Apple for a few days in August with the exchange program students before continuing on to Nebraska.
“I just started out (and) I didn’t know anything about it,” she said. “And I haven’t experienced anything American before. It was an experience.”
