It was two sides of the coin for Aurora and Hampton football in the opening round of the football playoffs Friday night.The Huskies picked up its second win over Central City in seven days while the Hawks hosted its first playoff game since 2009, but couldn't find that elusive win over Wallace.

The Aurora volleyball team flashed offensive firepower across the front row in a huge win Thursday night.Despite dropping the opening set, the Huskies found a rhythm and rolled to a four-set win over Blair, 26-28, 25-21, 25-18 and 25-20 to begin the B-2 district.

The fourth play of the game proved pivotal in a district title showdown between Aurora and Central City Friday, which the Huskies won 27-12 to make it six wins in a row for a team that heads into the playoffs on a roll.

The 2025 cross country season ended on a bittersweet note for the Lady Huskies who competed in the Class B Championships in Kearney Friday afternoon.The team didn’t take home any state medals this year, finishing as the 10th overall team in the girls Class B race with 173 points.
