Garrett cashes 1st medal for Aurora at Lochland

An incredible finish from Cash Garrett was the icing on the cake to his first career varsity medal.The Aurora freshman finished his Thursday round at Lochland Country Club in Hastings with an eagle on the par-5 first hole, catapulting him to a ninth place finish at the Hastings Invite.

Janda boots OT winner for Lady Huskies

Hannah Janda sent the Husky faithful home with a big smile Friday night. The Aurora senior connected on the game-winning goal with just seconds left in overtime, handing the Lady Huskies a 2-1 win at Nebraska City and providing her team with wins in back-to-back days.

Huskies show grit in loss to Crete

Despite being short-handed Thursday, the Aurora boys soccer team put up a solid fight against conference rival Crete.The Huskies and Cardinals were tied at one at the half but it was Crete with four second half goals to pick up the 5-2 win Thursday in Aurora.

Huskies split pair of meets

Last week was a bit chaotic for many Aurora High School students.The Husky track team had to split up throughout the week, sending some of its athletes to the Adams Central Invite April 8 because of other activities, like FBLA and SkillsUSA, which were hosted later in the week.

Huskies net first win

by Richard RhodenThe Huskies are into the win column just after the calendar flipped to April.Aurora put together a solid 80 minutes of soccer, picking up a 5-1 win at Columbus Lakeview Thursday for its first win of the year, coming on the heels of a close 2-0 loss to rival GINW April 1.

Roe Patton flew up the Aurora all-time chart faster than Friday’s wind gusts. In just his second meet wearing Husky red and first time in an outdoor environment, Patton crushed the Aurora pole vault school record, eclipsing 15-6 during Friday’s Aurora Invite.

Spiehs throws gem in first Aurora win

A solid outing on the mound from Jack Spiehs and timely offense lifted the Huskies to its first win on the diamond last week.Aurora used a three-run fifth inning to help secure a 5-3 win over Centennial March 25 at Mitchell Field.
