Danica Badura seemingly can’t miss right now on the golf course. The South Dakota commit and 2020 Aurora grad won the Nebraska Girls Amateur at Scotts Bluff Country Club by one stroke over Lincoln’s Nicole Kolbas, Scottsbluff’s Emily Krzyzanowski and Omaha’s Katie Ruge.

Football is back -- and that feels really good to say. Saturday marks a return to the gridiron in Nebraska with the 62nd annual Shrine Bowl game set for a 2 p.m. kickoff at UNK.

Good game!

Instead of the traditional handshake and good game salute between two teams after the game, Aurora’s Little League teams waved at each other from the baselines to keep socially distant during their abbreviated summer season. Look for more photos in the sports section.

Area trio set to play in Shrine Bowl July 11

Aurora’s Ryan Marlatt, Nate Boerkircher and High Plains’ Keaton Van Housen will participate in this year’s postponed Shrine Bowl Game, set to be played July 11 at 2 p.m. at Ron and Carol Cope Stadium on UNK’s campus. All three area athletes will be teammates on the South team.

Aurora VB camp information

Registration is open for the Aurora fundamental volleyball camp set July 22-23 from 3-5 p.m. for players entering sixth through eighth grade. Concordia University players and coaches will conduct the camp at the sports complex. Please email auroravolleyball@gmail.com for a registration form.
