Giltner coach Chip Bartos believes physicality will play a big factor in the success of the Hornet football team in 2020. That’s an odd thing to comprehend about a football program that’s prided itself on speed and quickness for such a long time.

Following one of the most successful two-year cooperatives in Nebraska high school football history, High Plains takes the field in 2020 once again as the Storm in the 8-man game.

Poco Creek men’s league begins 2-man playoffs

Thirty-two Poco Creek golf teams qualified for a postseason men’s league tournament which began this week. Fifty-two two-man teams competed during the summer -- 30 on Thursday nights and 22 on Monday.

Practices have begun for fall sports teams at all area schools, with coaches and players adapting to pandemic protocols not knowing for certain how, or if, the 2020 season will play out. Many teams are wearing masks before and during practice, as well as in the locker room.
