Kaylee Crosby has come a long way from hosting her own track meets as a young athlete, dreaming of the big stage.
The Aurora senior has been to Omaha Burke and done well against the state’s best. Now, she has an opportunity to compete at the next level.
Crosby inked her signature on a letter of intent to pursue her academic and track career at Nebraska Wesleyan Feb. 2 in front of her friends and family.
“I am super excited. It’s great to finally get it out of the way and feels really good,” Crosby said.
While Crosby has always had the dream of running track in college, a school like Nebraska Wesleyan was never really in the forefront of her mind.
Yet, the Prairie Wolves were the first school to reach out and show their interest. Eventually, the black and gold won out.
“It was the first team that contacted me. I brushed it off to the side at first, I didn’t really think I wanted to go to Wesleyan,” Crosby explained. “I decided to take a visit, my first college visit there and it always felt like a great fit for me.”
