Wayne Jones

Wayne Jones, age 74, of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Westfield Quality Care. 
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 13 at Mamre Evangelical Free Church near Marquette.   Inurnment will be at the Mamre Evangelical Free Cemetery near Marquette.   No Visitation. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. Wayne Jones, the son of Kermit Emil and Irene (Peterson) Jones, was born in Central City, on March 24, 1951 and passed away in Aurora, on February 5, 2026, at the age of 74.
Wayne attended Marquette High School.  He worked on the family farm, the Hwy 34 Diner and many years at the Aurora Mall. 
Wayne was a member of Mamre Church. He loved watching old western shows on TV and spending time with nieces and nephews.   Wayne was also able to travel with his parents, even making a trip to Sweden. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leroy Jones and sister-in-law, Glenda Jones.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two brothers, Keith (Linda A.) Jones of Bradshaw and Marvin Dean Jones of Walton; sister-in-law, Linda Jones of Marquette and 2 nieces, 8 nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other family members and friends.
