Robert Runion, Jr.
Robert Runion, Jr., 65, of Aurora, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025, as the result of an automobile accident in Hall County.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Grand Island, with Rev. Don Buhrman officiating. Inurnment will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be designated later. Robert L. Runion, Jr., the son of Robert and Mary (Tester) Runion was born in Staunton, Va. on Aug. 6, 1960, and passed away in Hall County, Nebraska on Dec. 24, 2025 at the age of 65.
Bob grew up in Staunton and Covington, Va. He graduated from Allegheny High School in 1978. After graduation he moved to Nebraska, where he met his future wife, Therese. He worked for McDonalds Restaurant for over 35 years, moving to Aurora in 1994 to open that store. Bob worked for the last six years at Rochester Armored Cars in Grand Island.
Bob was married to Therese Boeding on June 21, 1980. They had three children, Tina, Rob & Diana. Bob was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church and a former member of the Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tina Lalone; sister, Elizabeth Goble and in-laws, Ken & Rosella Boeding.
Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Therese of Aurora; son, Robert W. (Tonya) Runion of Omaha, daughter, Diana Runion of Aurora and 3 grandchildren, Keagan Chessmore, Nolan and Carter Runion. He is also survived by sisters, Sylvia (Neal) TaFraywe of Waynesboro, Va. Brenda Richer of Va.; brothers-in-law,
