Dorothy was born on September 16, 1933 at the family homestead near Giltner, daughter of John and Claire (Kingston) Luby. She grew up alongside her 11 brothers and sisters in the small farmhouse and graduated from Giltner High School before attending Grand Island Business College.
On December 29, 1957 she married Maurice Weller. They settled in Aurora where they raised their children. Together they owned Weller’s Jewelry for 36 years. Dorothy was the best salesperson and Maurice fixed watches and jewelry.
Together they loved to travel, and could often be found at the horse races or the casino. Dorothy loved cheering on her kids, or grandkids at any event they were involved in.  She was many things to so many people, she helped guide family and friends to be their best. She never sugar-coated anything, and was always encouraging her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Dorothy’s family was the most important thing to her. Her heart and home were a welcoming place for friends and family.
She is survived by her children, Hiedi Weller, Lisa Weller, Ami Weller and Tim Weller; her grandchildren and their families: Connor and Justin Grupe, their children, Jaden and Greysen; Mollie and Eric Steinkamp, their children, Kingston and Maddix; Larce and Amber Nelson, their children, Monroe and Lennon; Anthony and MacKenzie Weller; and Rachael Weller; and numerous friends, nieces, and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Maurice; 11 brothers and sisters; and son-in-law, Michael Nelson.
