HPC, Hampton to hold graduations Saturday afternoon

High Plains commencement is at 1 p.m., Hampton at 2 p.m.

    Caps, gowns, tassels and hugs will be the order of the day Saturday in two area communities, as Hampton High School and High Plains in Polk will be graduating members of their classes of 2026. 
    HPC's commencement will be first, starting at 1 p.m. in the high school gym. Speeches will be given by class valedictorian Peyton Hofmann and her twin sister and salutatorian Rylee Hofmann.  
    Then down the road in Hampton at 2 p.m. graduation exercises begin for the 11 seniors there. The valedictorian speech will be given by Lofton Ferguson followed by a speech from Salutatorian Aydenn Scherff.
