Janis Davis, 92, of Aurora, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at the Hearthstone in York. 
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 15 at United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Michelle Reed will officiate.   Inurnment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. No Visitation. Memorials may be made in Care of the Family to be determined at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Janis Lea Munn was born on April 6, 1934 in Scotia, to John and Mabel Higgins Munn. She passed away in York, on April 26, 2026 at the age of 92. 
Janis helped her father at their grain elevator in Rokeby. She was active in 4-H. She won numerous awards at the Nebraska State Fair and Ak-Sar-Ben. 
Janis graduated from University High School in Lincoln, and went on to attend the University of Nebraska for two years. 
On October 30, 1954 Janis married Donald Davis. They moved to Aurora where they owned and Don operated Davis OK Tire Store until 1989.  Janis loved living and raising a family in Aurora. 
Janis worked at Aurora High School as the assistant principal’s secretary.  A job that she continued for 25 years until her retirement in 1998. She was a natural mother not only to her four children but also to the kids at school.  In 1991 she was awarded the Aurora Chamber of Commerce Humanitarian Award for her service at school. 
Janis was a very active member of the United Methodist Church in Aurora, P.E.O. and Dorcus Circle.  She loved her flower garden where she grew beautiful roses. 
The most important thing to Janis was her family. She supported her husband Don and their four children in everything they did.  She was involved in her children’s activities; Girl Scouts, Cub, Scouts, 4-H, Sunday School and F.H.A. 
Janis loved attending her grandchildren’s activities. If they did it, she was he was there whenever possible. 
Janis was very close with her sisters and brother, and loved getting together with them and hearing about their kids and grandkids. 
Janis is preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Scott Hannon, son-in-law, Steve Leach, and sister, Judy Imig. 
Janis is survived by her children Donelle Leach, Lincoln, Judy Hannon (Steve) York, Laura Garrison, Surprise, Arizona, John Davis (Lorrie) Lincoln.; 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Eddie Ranson of Soldotna, Alaska, brother John Munn (Linda) Lincoln and many other family members and friends.
