Body

Diane Mae (Friesen) Harrison, age 72 of Henderson, died on Friday, April 10, 2026 in Aurora. She was born on March 9, 1954 to Jacob E. and Elsie (Regier) Friesen in Henderson.
Diane attended Henderson Community School from kindergarten and graduated from high school in 1972. She went to Hesston College in Kansas and graduated in 1974 with an Associate of Arts degree.
Upon Diane’s confession of faith, she joined the Bethesda Mennonite Church. Diane was a Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, and enjoyed Women’s Sewing Circle at the church. Diane remained a dedicated and faithful member until her death.
Diane had many jobs in her working days, such as: secretarial, a cook, and hospital nurse aide. Her last job was a unit secretary at Aurora Health Care for 23 years. Diane wanted to serve and help her community and took EMT classes and was on the Henderson rescue squad for 8 years.
Diane was married to Mike Harrison on April 5, 1975 at Bethesda Mennonite Church. To this union two children were born, Thomas James in March 1976 and Dawn Michelle in November 1978.
In 1998, Diane’s life dramatically changed when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). She was able to continue to work for 23 years before her condition worsened and eventually led to placement in the nursing home in 2021.
One thing that she was grateful for was a deeper relationship with her Lord. She prayed daily to keep up strength. The verses of James 1:2-5 (Living Bible) was a daily guide for her. She prayed daily to keep up strength and always had prayer for family, especially for all of her grandchildren.
Diane is survived by her husband Mike, of 51 years, of Henderson, children Thomas “TJ” Harrison of Henderson and daughter Dawn (Joe) Muhs of Omaha, and five grandchildren: Bruce (Maddie) Ketelsen of Moville, IA, Jacob Harrison of Henderson, Piper, Colin, and Holly Muhs, all of Omaha.
