Donna Sue Cooper, 83, of Central City, died Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Litzenberg Long Term Care in Central City. Memorial services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026 at First Christian Church in Central City at 11 a.m. Burial of ashes will be held at Monroe Evangelical Free Church Cemetery near Phillips.

Sue was born on Dec. 13, 1942 to Lee and Ada (Hoglan) Brown in Chadron. She grew up in Marsland and graduated from Chadron Prep in 1960. After graduation, she married Wayne Allen Cooper. They moved to Omaha for Wayne’s job, and Sue stayed home to raise their kids. In 1976 they moved to Salina, Kan. where she started working in healthcare. They then moved to Belleville where they owned a restaurant. They then moved to Mankato and eventually to Phillips. She continued to do healthcare until her retirement in 2004. After retirement, they moved to Glen Elder, Kan. and then to Central City to be closer to family.
Sue enjoyed painting and working in her flower garden. She was an active member of the Monroe Evangelical Free Church near Phillips.
Sue is survived by her sons- Curtis (Joyce) Cooper of Central City; Corey (Cindy) Cooper of Gothenburg; one daughter- Robyn (Scott) Evans of Gretna; one daughter-in-law- Sandy Cooper of York; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Cooper; parents, Lee and Ada Brown; son, Barry Cooper; grandson, Dusty Cooper and her siblings.
