Aurora and High Plains Community will combine to send five girls to next week’s state wrestling championships in Omaha, set to compete Feb. 17-18. Three Lady Huskies and two Storm wrestlers were able to survive and advance through the B-2 district in Columbus Lakeview over the weekend, highlighted by a district championship from Aurora’s Caly Settles. Aurora qualifiers included Sherly Gonzalez, pictured above after securing her spot in the state championships, as well as Mia Leininger. The Gress sisters, Dakota and Bailey, are both returning qualifiers for HPC. Full wrestling coverage can be found on Sports, page B1 of the print or e-editions of this week's ANR.
