Linda Madsen
Linda Madsen, age 83, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Memorial Community Care.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 29 at United Lutheran Church in Hampton. Inurnment will follow the service at the United Lutheran Cemetery. Pastor Ricardo Riqueza will officiate at both. No Visitation. A light lunch will be served by the women of the church in the fellowship hall. Memorials may be donated to the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island, for the renovation and upkeep of the Danish Lutheran Church. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Linda Gail Madsen, the daughter of Raymond Woodrow and Georgialee (Stephens) Madsen was born on December 7, 1942, in Cleburne, Texas and passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, in Aurora, at the age of 83.
Linda grew up in Texas, graduating from Paschal High School, Fort Worth, Texas in 1961. She attended one year of college at Texas Lutheran College, Seguin, Texas. After completing that year, she moved to Southern California, Redondo Beach, where her family had moved.
Throughout her career, Linda worked as an accountant for several different companies. Eventually, she found a position that offered her the challenges she was looking for and remained there as the office manager. In this role, Linda was not only responsible for managing office operations but also occasionally attended meetings with clients outside the office. Her dedication and commitment to her work were evident, as she devoted more than 30 years to the company before retiring at the end of 2012.
Linda lived in the SoCal area, until June of 2013, when she moved to Hampton, to live with her mother. Four years later, she moved in with her sister in Aurora.
Linda was very active in church from an early age. She served in many capacities throughout her life at church and the synod office.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Woodrow Madsen; mother, Georgialee and brother, Don Ray Madsen.
Left to survive her are her brother, Karl Madsen of Torrance, California; sister, Sylvia Madsen-Durham of Aurora and numerous cousins and friends.
