Garry Gimpel, 78, of Aurora, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025, at Westfield Quality Care. 
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 3 at Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Rev. Bob Gannon will officiate. Interment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Friday at Pleasant View Bible Church. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Garry William Gimpel, the son of Arthur F. and Gladys (Ranard) Gimpel was born on Dec. 26, 1947, at Aurora and passed away on Dec. 28, 2025, at Aurora at the age of 78. 
Garry grew up on the family farm between Aurora and Giltner. He graduated from Giltner High School in 1966. Garry attended Tech school in Hastings for two years before entering the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged in 1970.  Garry returned to Aurora in 1970 to open Gimpel Twins Repair and farm with his twin brother Larry. 
Garry put his trust in Christ on July 2, 1972, following a crusade meeting. 
Garry married Arlene Gustafson on Dec. 29, 1972, at Aurora. They made their home southwest of Aurora. They had two children, Todd and Sarah. 
Garry was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church, where he served as a Deacon, usher and AWANA Leader. He cared for the church cemetery for nearly 40 years and helped change the message on the church sign. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Gimpel and Dean Gimpel; sisters, Betty McNerney and Lucille Thomsen and in-laws, Harald & Amy Gustafson. 
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Arlene of Aurora; son, Todd (Beth) Gimpel of Aurora; daughter, Sarah Gimpel of Lincoln; 3 granddaughters, Trinidi (Max) Wiarda, Laighla Gimpel and Zoey Gimpel all of Aurora; sister, Ruth Decker of Grand Island; brother, Larry (Elaine) Gimpel of Aurora; sister-in-law, Judith Lott of Lincoln and other family members and friends.
