Rick Vaught

Rick L. Vaught, age 68 of Henderson, died on Tuesday September 30, 2025 in Henderson. He was born on August 26, 1957 to David C. and Beverly F. (Ohnesorge) Vaught in York. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Ann Zastrow on October 10, 1981 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. 
Rick was a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. He was confirmed at the United Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rick was a self-taught mechanic, and an all around fix it guy. He enjoyed collecting various things, and attending auctions and garage sales. Above all else, he had a great love for old cars especially his Red 67 Chevelle and his old truck known as “The Sport”. 
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cheryl Vaught of Henderson; daughter Chelsea Vaught of Henderson; siblings: David K. (Virginia) Vaught of Libby, Montana; Nancy (Curt) Friesen of Henderson; Brad (Kimberly) Vaught of Grand Island; Kevin (Kimberly) Vaught of Aurora; J. Todd (Chris) Vaught of Aurora. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Alvin and Margaret Zastrow, and brother Michael Vaught.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 6, 2025 at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. Burial will be at the Zastrow Cemetery in Cordova, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m., on Sunday with his family greeting friends from 2-4 p.m. that afternoon all at the mortuary in Henderson. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to the Bethesda Mennonite Church or the Zastrow Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at metzmortuary.com.
