Fern Kay Paider, beloved wife and mother, was born to Robert and Evelyn (Burson) Sinkler in Loup City, on December 7, 1945, and passed away at Aurora, on September 19, 2025 at the age of 79.
At an early age their family moved to Litchfield to a farm near Burwell. She attended a rural school until their family moved into Burwell where she completed her education at Burwell Elementary and High School. Fern cleaned homes for several Burwell families as well as babysitting for other families during that time. Fern met the love of her life, Ron Paider, on a blind date and their love grew and blossomed.   They were married June 27, 1964.
After marrying they lived in Ord,  where she worked for Absalon’s Variety Store until June 1966. At this time, they moved to Port Hueneme California, Ron’s duty station with the Navy Seabees. Their son, Kevin, was born there in June of 1967, while Ron was serving a tour in Vietnam.
They moved to Aurora in June of 1968. Their family grew when Lisa was born in January of 1971.   In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother she did part-time babysitting in their home. When Kevin and Lisa both reached school age she began working for Larry and Joyce Ediger at Larry’s Electric. In 1983, Fern began working at Aurora Schools lunch program as well as a library assistant. In 1984, Fern became full-time Lunch Cashier System Coordinator. After 25 years of dedicated service, Fern retired in 2009.
Fern was a member of the Aurora Jr. Women’s Club for a period of time. One of her favorite pastimes was bowling. She was a member of a local women’s bowling league and served as secretary of that league for several years. As a member of that team she bowled at several State and National Bowling Tournament events with that local team.
