HPC Storm sending eight to state track meet

  • Brodey Spurling won three golds for High Plains at last week’s D-2 district meet in Osceola, winning the long jump, triple jump and running a leg on the Storm 400 meter relay, a foursome that included Levi Russell, Haden Helgoth and Gage Friesen, breaking the school record with a time of 44.21.

    The High Plains track team found success all season long in its relay events and those will be well-represented this week in Omaha.The Storm qualified two of its three boys relay teams, including a new school record during May 14’s D-2 district meet in Osceola. Overall, the Storm is sending eight boys to Burke Stadium in seven total events, including the 400 and 3200 relay races....
