Fans of the home run ball got their monies worth at Aurora's season-opener Thursday night.

Taryn McKinney hit a pair of moon shots while fellow senior Rylee Olsen added a third as the Lady Huskies earned a 15-6 win over Lexington to start the 2021 season on the right foot.

After Lexington scored three in the top of the first, McKinney tied the game on one swing just before Olsen added her own homer, giving Aurora a 4-3 lead.

McKinney added her second homer of the night in the fifth as Aurora's lead extended to 10-6. The Lady Huskies would end the game on run rule in the sixth after a two-RBI double by Kaelin Sparr.

Aurora had 16 hits in the game, highlighted by Olsen's four while Taylor Janda added three.

McKinney also pitched a complete game on the mound for Aurora, allowing four earned runs on eight hits with eight strikeouts.

Aurora will be back in action Friday, hosting its own tournament.
