Whether it was helping design a factory to build subway cars, working in the computer industry, building homes or helping bring new drugs to market in the pharmaceutical industry, Aurora native John Hadley has always been guided by a strong work ethic and a thirst for learning.

More than 100 dealers from throughout the Midwest Corn Belt spent the day in Aurora last week to tour the new Specialty Ag Formulations plant on Highway 14 and view in-field demonstrations nearby featuring some of the micronutrient products manufactured there.

A 27-row folding combine corn head manufactured by Bish Enterprises of Giltner has made the final 16 list of products in the fourth annual Coolest Thing Made in Nebraska competition.

When Aurora’s Jessica Gibson crossed the finish line of her self-designed 50-mile marathon course on Sunday, Aug. 17, she didn’t just set a new personal running record.
Alexis Linehan will be hosting Kindermusik classes at the Bremer Center through her business, Apples and Oranges: Music Studio & Therapy. Kindermusik is an educational program that promotes children’s physical, cognitive and emotional developmental skills through music. Pictured with Linehan is her son, Lucas, who took Kindermusik with his mom 10 years ago in Omaha.

A new song is playing for the opening of a new semester for Apples and Oranges: Music Studio & Therapy in Aurora. The musical classes for children, taught by occupational therapist Alexis Linehan, will be adding techniques from Kindermusik early childhood music and movement classes this fall.

A rollover accident on I-80 near Aurora took the life of a Hastings man early Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 26. Calls began coming into the Hamilton County 911 Dispatch Center at about 1 p.m. from other drivers who had witnessed the crash in the eastbound lane near mile marker 336.

The Aurora Chamber of Commerce requested and received $7,500 in annual funding from the city last week, giving newly hired executive director Tamar Jimenez an opportunity to talk about some of the projects and ideas she is working on to support the business community.

Work to clear the Gambles building site of bricks and debris after last month’s demolition was completed this week, with the basement filled in and compacted with dirt. Aurora City Administrator Adam Darbro said the project cost approximately $325,000.
