Synergen Green Energy Inc. will host a community open house on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at the Bremer Community Center in Aurora from 5 to 7 p.m. The open house is an opportunity to learn more about Synergen’s plans for an ammonia facility in Hamilton County.

Newly installed Hamilton County Business Manager Pat Shaw of Aurora is beginning his second week on the job and says he has plans to use the position to foster communication and bring a continuity of direction to county government.

A Marquette man has been sentenced after being found guilty of first degree sexual assault and first degree false imprisonment by a Hamilton County jury in November. At a hearing held Thursday morning, District Judge Rachel A. Daugherty sentenced 26-year-old Anthoney E.
During his time with the Marine Band San Diego, Cpl. Elliott Jensen performed as a tuba instrumentalist and after February will be reassigned to the Second Marine Division Band in North Carolina.

Having spent the last four years playing tuba in the United States Marine Corps Band, Aurora native Cpl. Elliott Jensen has decided he’s ready for four more. While growing up in Aurora and playing in the high school band, Jensen said the Marine Corps had always been on his mind.
