Linemen from Southern Public Power District demonstrated what happens when a powerline falls on a car at the Edgerton Explorit Center’s Power Up Electrical and Circuits Day Camp on Thursday. Kids in grades 3-8 explored the exciting world of electricity by building circuits, lighting bulbs, testing switches, and discovering how energy flows through everyday technology. In this demonstration, campers were told that if they are ever in a car that a live power line has fallen on they should stay in the car unless it’s on fire because usually the tires will keep the car from being grounded.
