Hamilton County Spelling Bee set for Wednesday
Nearly 30 contestants from around the county entered
Some of Hamilton County's top spellers will be putting their skills to the test at the annual Hamilton County Spelling Bee on Wednesday, Feb. 4. The contest will be held at the Ag Building at the Hamilton County fairgrounds. Registration begins at 8:45 with the contest beginning at 9 a.m.
The contest will be done in written form with each contestant competing in at least five rounds of 10 words each. Also this year, after every fifth round will be an oral vocabulary round. Contestants will be eliminated after the tenth mistake until the top four contestants are chosen in each grade level.
The Hamilton County Champion will be the contestant with the fewest errors from the finals rounds. A trophy will be awarded to the champion and medals will be presented to each grade level winner. ANR will be covering the event and publishing pictures of the top winners.
