Hordville family uses grain bin for new home addition
Aaron and Chandra Blase have been working on finishing up the new addition to their farmhouse in which they connected a grain bin to the north side of their home north of Hordville.
The ceiling in the upstairs bedrooms was created using a second grain bin top that is separated from the actual roof of the grain bin by several inches and filled with insulation.
The grain bin addition to the Blase home is two stories with a master suite on the first floor, and two bedrooms and another bathroom on the second floor.
An unused structure that once stored bushels of grain has been renovated into bedrooms and bathrooms for a Hordville family. Aaron Blase and his wife, Chandra, are nearly done with a two-year renovation project for which they moved an old grain bin several hundred feet across their farmyard and used it to create a more than 900 square foot addition to their farmhouse.
