After moving upstairs to the District Courtroom, hearing more than an hour of testimony and holding a lengthy discussion, the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners decided to wait to make a final decision on a conditional use permit for S&P Irrigation on Monday morning.

Speaker shares concerns about carbon pipeline safety

A Nebraska-based radio and podcast host shared information with a group of approximately 70 area residents in Aurora Thursday explaining what he believes are significant safety concerns regarding the CO2 carbon capture pipeline project planned in Hamilton County and others like it.

Concern from public voiced to HPC board

Friends, family and supporters of a Polk family turned up in droves to a jam-packed High Plains January school board meeting Monday night. More than 30 people attended the start of Monday’s regular monthly meeting in the Polk board room, there for the purpose of public comment.
Barricades have been erected by the Village of Hampton around this 1893 opera house building which was declared an unsafe building by the board last month. Owner Dan Klute has presented a proposal to tear down the structure and salvage the building materials.
