Kirt Smith stepped into the role as captain of the city’s ambulance service in November. It’s a familiar role, as Smith served as director of the county’s ambulance service from 1999 to 2009.
Equipment will soon be installed on this portion of the KAAPA ethanol plant west of Aurora to capture carbon dioxide, which is usually vented into the atmosphere. The CO2 will be compressed and sent by pipeline several miles south to connect with the new Trailblazer CO2 pipeline project being undertaken by Tallgrass.
