Nineteen-year educator Matt Gordon is eagerly looking forward to starting his first year as supintendent at Giltner Public Schools, and he says he is encouraged by the fact that he will not be the lone newcomer. A total of 13 new faculty members are joining the district this year.

There will be many new faces in the place as school starts next Wednesday at Giltner Public Schools. Among those new faces are Matt Gordon who is taking over as superintendent and veteran educator Curtis Cogswell who will serve in the newly created role of administrator.

It didn’t happen without quite a bit of tense discussion, but the plan to construct a new home at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds for the county Extension office took another huge step forward on Monday.
Five veterans were honored with Quilts of Valor in a ceremony hosted by the Hamilton County Thimble Quilt Guild at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds Sunday afternoon. Veterans who received their quilts includes from left: Marvin Weir, Larry Tournor, Dale Saddler, Jerald Reichert and Mike Powell.
