Several multicar accidents on week’s docket

A total of six accidents were reported this week by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Aurora Police Department. On Saturday, Heather Land was pulling out of a stall at Pump and Pantry and struck a yellow post near the gas pumps, the report stated.

Phase 3, Phase 4 DHMs extended until Sept. 13

Phase 3 directed health measures (DHMs) that are in effect until Aug. 31 are being extended through Sept. 13. A total of 66 Nebraska counties are currently in Phase 3. All counties in Phase 3 will move to Phase 4 on Sept. 14 unless hospitalizations dramatically change.

Hunter Safety course postponed due to COVID-19

Due to recent concerns with COVID-19, the annual Aurora Hunter Safety course has been postponed for this year. The Hunter Safety Course can still be completed online by going to the Nebraska Game and Parks website at huntered.com/Nebraska/.

Low Platte River levels not unusual

Those driving to and fro from Hamilton County into Hall or Merrick counties may notice a rather usual, but also unusual sight -- a low and dry Platte River.

NPPD study tracks area’s economic trends

Hamilton County added 420 nonfarm jobs to the local payroll between 2009-19 with a majority of those coming in the private sector, though the manufacturing sector lost 59 total jobs over that same period.

Mars Petcare gives Aurora Adopt-A-Pet a helping hand
