Four Giltner veterans were honored with Quilts of Valor during Giltner Public Schools’ Veterans Day program. The quilts were presented by the Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild, the Grand Island Quilt of Valor group. Veterans who received their quilt of valor includes, front from left: Allen Miller, Brian Miller, Kevin Miller, Kenneth Paul Colburn. The veterans were drapped with their quilts by Allen’s wife Kay, Janie Murphy, Darci Higgins Williamson and Kenneth’s wife Ann respectively during the ceremony.
Students from Giltner High School gathered together to celebrate and honor veterans during the school’s annual Veteran’s Day program Monday afternoon. First, fifth and sixth graders stand tall as they say the Pledge of Allegiance.
Jim and Virginia Koepke received the Hamilton Community Foundation’s Lifetime Legacy Award, which was presented by Tammy Morris, HCF’s executive director.
