Headlining the Hamilton County Corn Grower’s Association annual plot tour, after a tour of the physical plot, was a presentation by Aurora native Michael Moritz. Moritz currently serves as a Warning Coordination Meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Hastings.
After a quick introduction by Hamilton County Corn Grower’s Association president Mike Bergen, Moritz began by telling those in attendance a little more about himself.
“I always wanted to be a meteorologist,” he expressed. “Not since high school, not since elementary school… since before school. That’s what I wanted to do. And that is not uncommon for meteorologists. We love the weather.”
He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and has three sons. In total, he’s spent 29 years with the National Weather Service in south central Nebraska.
