Most Nebraska golfers are used to playing with a breeze, but Friday’s conditions for the Seward Invite were a bit extreme.
Winds gusted, blowing hats off heads with temperatures struggling to get above 50.
Yet, the Aurora golfers turned in a solid day one performance, finishing third as a team with three in the top 15.
Aurora coach Craig Badura noted that Friday’s weather conditions were a bit on the crazy side but was pleased with how his kids handled it.
“You have to have that knockdown shot and we don’t yet,” Badura said. “That was top five one of the worst weather days since I’ve been here. Overall, I’m happy with the fact we were one stroke short of Beatrice.”
Tate Nachtigal carried the flag for the Huskies, carding a front nine score of 39 before finishing with an 85, fifth overall.
