Well, this is a bit of a curveball. The Aurora 4R School Board hit a home run last week, unanimously approving baseball as a spring activity, beginning with the upcoming 2023-24 school year. In some ways, this felt a bit like a backdoor breaking ball.

Explanation needed on city’s Hwy 34 decision

Dear Editor:Last week’s article about reducing Hwy 34 through Aurora to two lanes with turning lanes made me feel like I was being forced to trade a decent pair of scissors for a useless pair of plastic kindergarten scissors. Just because something is “safer” doesn’t mean its better.

Poor communication

The Aurora City Council made a key decision on behalf of this community last week regarding future plans to rebuild the busy Highway 34 corridor passing through town. Unfortunately, Aurorans had little say in the matter and communication leading up to that decision was handled poorly.
