Though slowed somewhat by supply chain delays, progress continues to grow more visible each day on construction in the Streeter Subdivision on the west edge of Aurora.

The Aurora City Council updated several local ordinances last week, making minor language revisions to reflect changes in various state laws passed last year by the Nebraska Legislature. At the end of the Feb.
Five building permits were issued in November for single-family homes to be built in the new Streeter Subdivision. The project announced last month includes 64 housing lots, with construction on several expected to start as soon as possible.

A surge of new housing starts in the Streeter Subdivision, likely the first of many to come, boosted the building permit total to over $1 million for the month of November. Gov.

City, AHDC take steps toward new housing subdivision

The Aurora City council approved the final plat last week for the fourth addition in the Streeter Subdivision, another potentially significant step forward in an effort to address a housing study’s recommendation that the community is in dire need of more townhomes and single-family dwellings.
