Almost 18 years after opening its doors at Aurora’s I-80 intersection Love’s Travel Stops is expanding and remodeling its facilities with a $600,000 renovation expected to start in mid-October.

Scott and Monica Snider knew when they moved into their Highway 14 location that Snider’s Outdoor Power would eventually need more space. That time has come, as work has begun on an expansion project designed to help them accommodate and continue a pattern of steady growth.

The Aurora City Council took steps last week designed to accommodate future growth by approving a route to expand the sewer line system feeding into the city’s wastewater treatment plant.
Work continues on the city’s EMS living quarters expansion, where a solid block structure was built near the center of the structure to serve as a storm shelter for emergency crews.
