The Hampton Community Development Corporation announced Monday that a new subdivision is being planned on the west edge of town with nearly eight acres now available for housing and commercial development.
A demolition crew cleared this lot, then tore down the building pictured next to it, making way for a new bar and grill expected to open on Main Street in Phillips by next spring.

Construction crews were busy Friday putting down forms to pour the first basement in 14 homes expected to be built this year in a new housing subdivision on the east side of Phillips. Rising lumber costs increased the target price from $217,000 to $259,000.
