Hampton certainly didn’t show signs of rust early on in its first game back from the five-day moratorium.
The final eight minutes, though, were a whole different story.
The Hawks were held to just one fourth quarter field goal and shut out for the final 5:50 of the game as Harvard rallied to defeat Hampton 48-43 in the opening round of the Hampton holiday tournament Monday.
Hampton coach Kyle Ediger was frustrated by another close loss at home, noting the tide is oh, so close to turning in favor of the Hawks.
