Aurora set for area tournament play in York starting Friday

The Aurora Pinnacle Bank Post 42 Seniors head into the Class B, Area 4 tournament looking for momentum after a rocky Sunday afternoon. 
The Post 42 Seniors were blanked by York 21-0 while also dropping a tight 6-5 contest to Holdrege in the round robin finale. 
In the loss to York on a sweltering summer afternoon, Aurora had issues getting out of the top of the first inning as York pushed across 11 to start the game. 
In all, six York batters were hit by a pitch in the opening inning while Aurora allowed another two walks in the first frame. 
Aurora had two runners on in the bottom half of the first, second and third frames, but was unable to score. 
York extended its lead to 15-0 after the fourth while again Aurora would get two runners on in the fourth, but no avail. 
York added six more runs in the fifth to take a 21-0 lead as Aurora again had two runner on in the bottom half, but was unable to push any across. 
Jayden Quandt had two of Aurora’s five hits in the game while Dylan Dubas, Seth Stevens and Layton Hohm added the others.
