Gage Griffith’s title defense in the throws is off to a pretty solid start.
The Husky senior set a new meet record in the shot put, throwing out a 56-01.50 while also winning the discus at the Concordia Bulldog track and field challenge Thursday.
The Huskies finished third in a tight team race on the boys side behind Columbus Lakeview and Blair, all within seven points of one another.
Griffith smashed the meet record in the shot put with a heave of 56-01.50, winning the event by nearly three feet. He also had a winning throw in the discus of 159-09, nearly 15 feet better than second place.
Aurora coach Gordon Wilson pointed out that Griffith always wants more, and that’s no different now looking forward.
“Gage is never satisfied,” Wilson said.
