For the third year in a row, Aurora is one of the final 14 teams in the state left standing, set to compete for a state championship next week.
The Huskies will play in its third consecutive state football championship Tuesday at 2:45 p.m., taking on Pierce in the C1 finals from Memorial Stadium.
It’s a match-up people have anticipated since August as the unquestioned top two teams in C1.
Aurora coach Kyle Peterson explained that the Huskies have seen Pierce a few times on film throughout the season and explained both teams will know exactly what the other is getting on Tom Osborne Field.
“We’ve seen them on film a few times with common opponents,” Peterson said. “They are really big at the line of scrimmage and talented at tailback. They also have one of the best quarterbacks in the state and the best play-maker at tight end.”
