Carsen Staehr’s efforts Saturday may be proof of Aurora’s recent offensive woes clearly in the rear-view mirror.
Staehr had a career day, bagging 27 points on nine of 12 shooting while going a perfect six of six from three-point range as the Huskies downed Lexington 72-50 on its home floor.
Aurora coach Kevin Asher reported after the game that Staehr has been building confidence on the floor and was really close to where he wanted to be.
“He was outstanding tonight. His confidence has been growing,” Asher said. “He told me he was starting to get comfortable and that was right when we were in a tough stretch. You can see he can feel it and the kids got him the ball in a good spot. He’ll do whatever it takes -- play great defense or shoot.”
