A classic defensive effort from Aurora was the difference in taking the Huskies all the way.

Two fourth quarter interceptions helped solidify Aurora's 21-12 win over Plattsmouth at home Friday night in the Class B semifinals.

With Aurora holding onto a 14-12 lead, Brady Collingham returned a pick six to push Aurora ahead, 21-12 with 4:08 left in the game.

As Plattsmouth tried to rally, Jameson Herzberg came up with his second interception of the night on a fourth down play to help seal the deal for the Huskies.

Aurora is back in the football finals after winning Class C-1 back in 2018 and it's Aurora's third appearance in the finals since 2015.

The Huskies will play Elkhorn in the finals, who defeated Hastings 33-28.

However, in a press release sent out by the NSAA Friday night,  the State Football Championship Finals will not be played in Lincoln at Memorial Stadium on November 23rd

and 24th.

Instead, The Class A, B, C1, C2, D1, and D2 State Football Championship Finals will be played at home sites on Friday, November 20th. The higher seed will host in all

classes. Game times will be mutually agreed upon by the participating schools. The host schools will be required to follow the previously established NSAA postseason

protocols.

In this case, Elkhorn will be the host team as Aurora makes the road trip east Friday night. Game time set for 6 p.m.
