Hornets battle through tough stretch of rated opponents
Giltner set for CRC tournament play, starting Saturday
Giltner had a tough task last week, taking on three teams, all of which are listed in the Class D rankings and have a combined six losses.
The middle of those three games was Friday night, as Giltner welcomed Class D2 No. 7 Osceola to town.
The hot-shooting Bulldogs pulled away after the first quarter, making 12 three-pointers in the game and shooting 48 percent in a 70-27 win over the Hornets.
The game went back and forth for some time in the first quarter as the Hornets found some offensive success on the baseline.
Dakon Wilson and Jacob Smith got involved, scoring the first six points as the Hornets trailed 7-6 midway through the first.
However, Osceola took charge quickly, making four three-point shots in the opening quarter alone to lead 23-9 after the first eight minutes.
