Hawks roll past Heartland Lutheran
Hampton set for big road showdown at St. Edward Friday
Hampton’s offense was incredibly efficient in the first half against Heartland Lutheran.
The Hawks scored on six offensive drives in the first and second quarters, running just 15 plays in those series as Hampton put up 52 points in the first half of its 58-12 win over the Red Hornets on Homecoming night.
Following its third win in a row, Hampton coach Jereme Jones was quite pleased with his team’s play in its final home game of the regular season while adding there were no tricks this week. Just simple football.
“We came out and wanted to keep it simple on offense,” Jones noted. “We ran about four plays on offense and just want to become really good at running the football. We want to be really good at what we do. In the past few years, Hampton hasn’t been real successful at running the football, so it’s a mindset.”
