Aurora's Caden Svoboda and Trevor Kluck both completed lifelong goals Saturday night.

The Husky senior duo both won their first elusive state championships at 106 and 145, giving Aurora its first state champion since Garret Johns in 2012.

Svoboda was in control for most of his finals match against Gering's Ashton Dane, winning a 6-0 decision. It was Svoboda's second consecutive state finals appearance and his first time on top of the podium. He finishes his senior season with a 41-2 record.

Kluck fell behind early in his finals match against Hastings' Landon Weidner, but powered ahead later in the match to win a 6-4 decision. Kluck goes down as Aurora's winningest wrestler in school history and finishes his senior season with a 44-1 mark.

Mack Owens was Aurora's other finalist, but ended up on the wrong end of a 10-5 decision to Bennington's Luke MacDonald. Owens finishes his junior season at 41-4.

Aurora finished 3rd in the Class B team race behind Gering and Beatrice. Gering won with 116.5 points ahead of Beatrice at 112.5. Aurora was third with 107.

It was the first time Aurora had three finalists since the 2005 season when the Huskies were runner-up to Omaha Skutt. It's also the first time they had two state champions since 2005 with Levi Wofford and Caleb Huenefeld.

Aurora had five medalists, including Svoboda (1st), Kluck (1st), Owens (2nd), Brekyn Papineau (3rd) and Aaron Jividen (4th).
